Nearly a year ago some Buckeye fans were complaining about Ohio State’s slow start to the 2018 recruiting class. Those days are long ago.
With just a few months left until senior prospects can sign on the dotted line with a school, Urban Meyer and crew have now picked up their 17th verbal pledge of the 2018 cycle.
Announcing his plans to play for the Buckeyes on Sunday afternoon, four-star Huber Heights Wayne wide receiver L’Christian “Blue” Smith spurned chances to attend Kentucky, Cincinnati, and many other solid programs to suit up for Meyer in the Scarlet and Gray.
Blessed to announce I have committed 110% to THE OHIO STATE BUCKEYES....dyt stand up!!!!!⭕️#blockO #zone6 pic.twitter.com/UbbZuvTz15

Also a D1 basketball recruit at one time, Smith, the fourth athlete, and 119th overall prospect in 2018, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, has shown over his high school career time and time again why he’s considered one of the most sought after recruits on that level.
A playmaker through the air, the 6’5 and 200-pounder will add another scoring threat to the Buckeyes arsenal of young and talented receivers.
Fighting off double teams as a junior last season, Smith hauled in over 40 receptions for 736 yards and nine touchdown to help pace the Wayne Warriors to an overall record of 11-1 and a deep playoff run.
Before arriving in Columbus, L’Christian is already helping the Buckeyes out. With Smith now in the fold Ohio State’s star studded class of 2018 is still on top of the recruiting world. Fighting off the likes of Texas, and Big Ten foe Penn State, OSU pushes their lead even further past the Longhorns and Nittany Lions as the number one overall 2018 recruiting class in the country.
Want to know more about Smith and what he’ll add to the Buckeyes offense? Be on the lookout as the Land-Grant Holy Land recruiting team will have much more on L’Christian and his commitment to Ohio State in the near future.
