Nearly a week after landing former Ohio State standout Malik Hooker’s younger brother Marcus, Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes have now picked up a verbal pledge from another class of 2018 standout.
Joining fellow linebacker prospects Dallas Gant and Teradja Mitchell in the Buckeyes' class, four-star recruit K’Vaughan Pope is now the 17th member of Ohio State’s top rated recruiting class.
Announcing his commitment on Friday night, Pope picked Ohio State over a long list of scholarship offers. Before deciding on the Buckeyes, the 6'2, 210-pound Dinwiddie, VA native held chances to suit up at programs such as Georgia, Alabama, Clemson, Florida, and Florida State.

Currently rated as the seventh inside linebacker and 168th-overall prospect in the class of 2018, per the 247Sports Composite Rankings, Mitchell put together an impressive junior campaign at Dinwiddie High School. Last season as a leader for the Generals, who finished the year off 14-1, the future Buckeye accounted for 135 total tackles, 4.5 sacks, and 6 interceptions.
Be on the lookout as the Land-Grant Holy Land recruiting team will have much more on K’Vaughan Pope and his commitment to Ohio State coming soon.
