Remember when the Ohio State 2018 recruiting class needed defensive end prospects? Yeah? Those days are now way behind the Buckeyes.

After recently picking up a commitment from Cleveland Heights standout Tyreke Smith at the Under Armour All-America game, the Buckeyes have now added another quality pass rusher to the fold.

Committing to the Buckeyes today in a ceremony at his high school Don Bosco Prep, four-star prospect Tyler Friday has decided to continue his education and path to the NFL at the Ohio State University over a long list of scholarship offers. Before his commitment Michigan, and Alabama were among the programs to pursue the New Jersey native throughout the recruiting process.

Although he’s listed as a defensive tackle, Friday, the 85th overall prospect in the entire class of 2018, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings, will get his first shot to crack to the Buckeyes slim depth chart at defensive end when he reaches Columbus.

Friday, who attends Don Bosco Prep in Ramsey, New Jersey, adds another key piece to the Buckeyes defensive class. Now currently sitting at 23 players, potentially six of those prospects could see time across Larry Johnson’s defensive front.

Be on the lookout as the Land-Grant Holy Land recruiting team will have much more on Tyler Friday’s pledge to the Buckeyes coming soon.
