Even though the Purdue Boilermakers scored a 49-20 victory over the No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes, the sportsbooks are still believing in the Scarlet and Gray. In the latest set of odds released by Bovada, Ohio State moved from 7-to-1 before the loss to 12-to-1 on Monday morning. That’s tied with Michigan for the fourth best odds in the country.
Alabama still leads the way with 1-to-2 odds, with Clemson a distant second at 5-to-1. Notre Dame moves into the No. 3 spot, sitting with a 13-to-2 chance.
In the hunt for the Heisman Trophy, a record-setting performance by quarterback Dwayne Haskins didn’t hold the line. The Buckeye signal-caller dropped from second to third in the odds listing, and now sits behind the Crimson Tide’s Tua Tagovailoa and Oklahoma’s Kyler Murray. Haskins still has a decent listing at 12-to-1, but he’s facing stiff competition. Wolverines’ QB Shea Patterson, who was originally off the board last week, slingshotted up the listing and is now tied with Haskins at 12-to-1.
