Podcast: Terry McLaurin is a blocking beast and the coaches have noticed

Also, tracking redshirts, the latest major basketball commitment, OSU NFL domination, and more!

NCAA Football: Ohio State at Texas Christian Tim Heitman-USA TODAY Sports

In the latest “Why is this News?” edition of the “Hangout in the Holy Land” podcast, co-hosts Matt Tamanini and Alexis Chassen catch up on all of the biggest Buckeye stories from the past week. Urban Meyer got in depth on the strengths and weaknesses of his team during his weekly press conference, the basketball team got a monster commitment, and we check in on the Buckeyes in the NFL.

The Ohio State coaching staff put their proverbial money where their mouth is in selecting Terry McLaurin as the Offensive Player of the Game, despite not having a single yard from scrimmage, nor fielding a single punt or kick. McLaurin earned the weekly honor for his unselfish play including an insane amount of key blocks on the biggest offensive plays in the 27-26 win over Penn State.

We also discussed what freshmen have already burned their redshirts and who might do so this week.

We also got into the recent commitment of E.J. Liddell to the Ohio State men’s basketball team. With his pledge, the Buckeyes currently have the fifth rated 2019 recruiting class in the country. And, don’t look now, but Alexis is getting into basketball!

We also talk about everything that the NFL Buckeyes have been up to as they dominate the league’s offensive statistics!

Then, we close out the show with making predictions about the Homecoming game between the No. 3 Ohio State Buckeyes and the Indiana Hoosiers (spoiler alert: Alexis didn’t pick a score in the 100s this week).
