Ohio State vs. Michigan State 2018: Start time, live stream, TV schedule and GameThread

This could get ugly, but at least we’ve got each other.

NCAA Football: Michigan State at Maryland Tommy Gilligan-USA TODAY Sports

The No. 10 Ohio State Buckeyes escaped the clutches of Nebraska last week in Columbus, returning from a bye week after falling to Purdue. While some things changed (the Buckeyes’ return to a rushing attack), others did not (the defense in general).

Now, Ohio State prepares to face No. 18 Michigan State at home this afternoon in an early kickoff. It’s a must-win for the Buckeyes, who will need to win out for a shot at the College Football Playoff. The Spartans, meanwhile, are sitting at 6-3 on the season, and are currently in third-place in the Big Ten East behind Michigan and Ohio State. Most recently, Michigan State is on a two-game win streak after its loss to Michigan, earning a 24-3 win over Maryland on the road last Saturday. Per the usual, Michigan State is led by its stout defense, which is allowing just 325 yards per game this year. Its offense, meanwhile, continues to struggle despite the experience of junior quarterback Brian Lewerke.

Ohio State holds a 31-15 advantage all-time over Michigan State, and has won the last two. In 2017, the Buckeyes beat the Spartans by a 48-3 margin in Columbus, but, just a year prior in East Lansing, Ohio State escaped with a one-point victory.
