While I’m still not buying that Ohio State offense was all that much better against Michigan State last week — they gained 4 yards per play and only scored 17 points — they definitely showed signs of life against a tough Spartans defense. How much can they build on that against an exponentially worse Maryland defense?
On this week’s preview episode of the Hangout in the Holy Land, Patrick Mayhorn and I break down how the Buckeyes match up with the Terrapins, what we think about the offense, and the craziness surrounding Brett McMurphy’s latest report about Urban Meyer.
Show Notes
1:17- Ohio State’s strong response to McMurphy’s recent report on Meyer, Zach Smith, and former Buckeye receiver Trevon Grimes
12:50- Maryland’s explosive offense worries us a little
17:31- Forcing a couple turnovers would help Ohio State put this game away pretty quickly
19:01- Need more from the defensive line, and hope to see continued growth in the secondary
23:34- Can the offense continue to improve?
25:20- Where’s the big play passing?
28:45- Is this the week we finally see Ohio State win convincingly?
32:54- Maryland is a good precursor to what Michigan’s offense likes to do.
35:37- Looking around week 12.
