Podcast: Wading through this week’s garbage to talk punters, Haskins’ future

We also make a simple request that Zach Smith stop using Twitter and Brett McMurphy stay away from OSU... please!

NCAA Football: Ohio State at Michigan State Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

In the latest “Why is this News?” edition of the “Hangout in the Holy Land” podcast, co-hosts Matt Tamanini and Alexis Chassen catch up on all of the biggest Buckeye stories from the past week. This week they wade into the obnoxious news surrounding Zach Smith and Brett McMurphy before getting into Dwayne Haskins’ upcoming decision to return to Columbus for another year, or to depart for the NFL Draft.

Also in the episode, Alexis utters a phrase that might be debatable in some football circles, but following Drue Chrisman’s performance against Michigan State last week is very close to the hearts of everyone in Buckeye Nation, “Punters are people too.”

Matt and Alexis also talk about Terrelle Pryor’s weird season in the NFL and the great men’s basketball recruiting class.

The No. 10 Ohio State Buckeyes will visit the Maryland Terrapins in College Park, Md. on Saturday, Nov. 17 at 12 noon ET in a game broadcast on ABC.
