With the Ohio State-Michigan game coming up, this week is sure to be one of the biggest for recruiting this year, as it normally is. But before we get to The Game, there’s news happening out on the recruiting trail. Let’s take a look what went down.
Entering the fray
The Ohio State Buckeyes are still on the search for more members to their ‘19 recruiting haul. Right before the turkey holiday, the Scarlet and Gray made an offer to three-star offensive tackle Dawand Jones, a prospect out of Indianapolis. Jones made the offer known on Twitter Wednesday evening.

Over 10 schools have made offers known to the 6-foot-8 OT, with the likes of Florida State, Indiana, USC and Michigan being just some of the more notable schools. Already, five 247sports predictions have been casted in Jones’ recruitment; four of the votes—unfortunately for OSU fans—trend towards that team up north.
But anything could happen. This offer from Ohio State comes off the heels of an unofficial visit, and it comes in the nick of time. Jones has scheduled his commitment date for Dec. 17.
Ohio State has some ground to make up, but getting him on campus is a very good start. We’ll keep you posted if any news around Jones-OSU becomes known.
Zach Harrison on campus yesterday, won’t attend The Game
Five-star defensive lineman and Columbus native Zach Harrison was on campus yesterday checking in on Ohio State, according to reports. Recent talk around the internet makes it seem like he is leaning towards signing somewhere other than Ohio State.
Here’s Jeremy Birmingham tweeting a response to a question about Harrison on Nov. 19:
This is something that has been addressed a lot in recent weeks and months - but I don’t think he ends up at Ohio State.

That’s not a great sign for the Buckeyes. He’s also not expected to be in attendance for Saturday’s game, which is noteworthy because Harrison is considering both Ohio State and Michigan.
The next great punter?
Michael O’Shaughnessy, from New Albany (OH) High School, is a punter in the class of 2019 who received an OSU offer last week. O’Shaughnessy also has an offer from the University of Toledo. However, he announced on Wednesday afternoon that he’ll be making the short trek this weekend to visit campus.
Visiting The Ohio State University this weekend! Should be a great game between the Bucks and the Wolverines!

2019 DT decides to stay out west
Faatui Tuitele, a four-star 2019 defensive tackle, committed to the University of Washington on Monday despite having an offer from Ohio State.
Tuitele was pretty excited about his verbal commitment on Twitter, so a change in his recruitment seems doubtful.

Alabama and USC also joined OSU in the race for Tuitele, but fell short.
