As the clock counted down to kickoff, the panel on ESPN’s “College GameDay” wrapped up the show as they always do, by picking the winners for the biggest games of the day. Former NL MVP Bryce Harper (the husband of a former OSU soccer player) was this week’s guest picker, and, along with Kirk Herbstreit, Lee Corso, and UM’s Ohio-native, turncoat Heisman winner, he predicted the winners of the Iron Bowl; the Clean, Old-Fashioned Hate game; ND-USC; and more. But, the only selection that really matters was the last one: The Game.
With today’s “GameDay” visit, the ESPN pregame show has been on location at an OSU game 43 times, tied for the most appearances with Alabama; and the Buckeyes have hosted a record 18 times (‘Bama is next with 13). In those 43 games, Corso has picked the Buckeyes 27 times — second only to the Tide — and is 19-8 in those games.
The 40 times that Corso has donned headgear for an OSU game, he has gone 24-16; getting his Buckeye pick against TCU in September correct, but missing with Penn State later that month.
Check out the panel’s picks for all of Saturday’s biggest games, including The Game picks from David Pollack and Chris Fallica:
