After a narrow victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers, the Ohio State Buckeyes maintained their No. 8 ranking in the latest edition of the AP Poll Top 25.
Alabama is still the top team in the nation after their road shutout of LSU. Clemson and Notre Dame file behind the Crimson Tide to round out the top-3. With the LSU loss, Michigan moved up into the No. 4 spot, Georgia moved up to No. 5 and Oklahoma moved up to No. 6.
In front of the Buckeyes at No. 7 are the West Virginia Mountaineers, who slingshotted up five spots after their last-second win against Texas on the road. LSU is placed behind OSU at No. 9, while Pac-12 frontrunner Washington State caps off the top-10.
For the Big Ten, there is another pair of schools that made this week’s Top 25. Even though Penn State was pulverized 42-7 in Ann Arbor, they only dropped seven spots to No. 21. Michigan State reentered the rankings after a win against Maryland; the Spartans are placed at No. 24.
Next week, Ohio State travels to face Michigan State for a noontime football game, with FOX broadcasting.
