Ohio State has huge recruiting weekend

Business was definitely booming for the Buckeyes over the weekend.

2020 WR Julian Fleming

While celebrating J.K. Dobbins, Tuf Borland, and the rest of the Buckeyes bounce back victory over the Nebraska Cornhuskers you might’ve missed out on your Ohio State recruiting fix over the weekend.

Don’t worry! Land-Grant Holy Land is here to fix that for you.

2019 RB flips to Ohio State

As many expected, on Sunday evening the Buckeyes busted out the spatula and flipped a three-star running back from Miami to Ohio State.

Now on board with OSU, class of 2019 standout Marcus Crowley can call himself a Buckeye verbal pledge after jumping ship from the Hurricanes.

A 6-foot-1, 200-pound high school senior from Jacksonville’s Trinity Christian Academy, the same program that produced current OSU players Shaun Wade and Tyreke Johnson, had a change of heart after having the chance to see what it would be like to be an Ohio State student-athlete in person while in Columbus for a campus visit over the weekend.

Currently considered the 35th running back and 573rd overall prospect in the entire class of 2019, per the 247Sports Composite, Crowley has rushed for over 1,500 yards and 20 touchdowns for the undefeated 10-0 Conquerors so far this season.

The 15th overall member of the Buckeyes 2019 class, the Sunshine State rusher gives Ohio State two senior running backs, joining Georgia native Steele Chambers, who could eventually make the move to defense as a linebacker.

Smith-Njigba picks OSU

Just a few hours after landing the commitment of Crowley Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes successfully plucked one of the top wide receivers in the class of 2020 away from programs such as Notre Dame, Nebraska, TCU, Texas Tech and Ole Miss.

Four-star Rockwall High School (TX) wide receiver Jaxon Smith-Njigba took to his Twitter page to share his college announcement with the world after having spent the weekend in Columbus.

Hailing from one of the top states for high school football, Smith-Njigba has put up some eye popping numbers against some rather stiff competition. Hauling in 75 receptions, the 6-foot-1, 188-pound junior has accounted for 1,372 receiving yards and 16 trips to the endzone.

Still well over a year away from stepping foot onto a college campus, Jaxon’s commitment gives the Buckeyes seven current members of its class of 2020.

Recruits flock to Columbus

Urban Meyer and the rest of the Ohio State coaching staff didn’t just have Nebraska on campus Saturday. Playing host to a long list of highly sought after high school talent from across the country, the Buckeyes had their handful on and off of the football field.

Although Meyer and crew might’ve added running back Marcus Crowley and wide out Jaxon Smith-Njigba to their already stacked list of future Buckeyes, many of their top prospects from the 2019 and 2020 classes were on hand to watch OSU squeak past Nebraska for their eighth win of the season.
