In the latest “Why is this News?” edition of the “Hangout in the Holy Land” podcast, co-hosts Matt Tamanini and Alexis Chassen catch up on all of the biggest Buckeye stories from the past week, which just so happened to be a phenomenal week for Ohio State’s quarterback, Dwayne Haskins.
In addition to breaking the Big Ten Player of the Week record, Haskins was also named the conference’s Quarterback and Offensive Player of the Year, and a number of NFL Draft prognosticators are beginning to consider him one of the top quarterbacks in this year’s class — should he forego his remaining eligibility.
With all of that in mind, Matt and Alexis debate whether Haskins should take that sweet, sweet NFL money, or come back to continue his developmental process in hopes of improving and extending his professional career.
The pair also discusses the awful news about Demetrius Knox’s injury, their predictions for the Big Ten Championship Game, and OSU’s College Football Playoff chances.
The No. 6 Ohio State Buckeyes will take on the No. 21 Northwestern Wildcats in the Big Ten Championship Game on Saturday, Dec. 1 at 8 p.m. ET. The game will be broadcast on FOX live from Lucas Oil Stadium in Indianapolis, Ind.
