Following victories over Youngstown State (75-56) and UCLA (80-66), the Ohio State Buckeyes (11-1, 2-0) moved up two spots in the most recent Associated Press Poll. Chris Holtmann’s Buckeyes now rank at No. 13 in the country.
This week’s top five are No. 1 Duke, No. 2 Michigan, No. 3 Tennessee, No. 4 Virginia, and No. 5 Kansas. The other Big Ten teams joining the Buckeyes and Wolverines in the top 25 are No. 8 Michigan State, No. 15 Wisconsin, No. 23 Indiana, and No. 24 Iowa. Nebraska (160) and Purdue (3) are also receiving votes.
The Buckeyes will wrap up (pun intended) the non-conference portion of their schedule on Saturday, Dec. 29 against High Point, and then they will host the Spartans on Saturday, Jan. 5 at noon ET to kickoff the bulk of their B1G schedule.
In addition to the AP poll, the Buckeyes are also showing up in other types of polls as well. They are currently ranked 19th in the NCAA’s new N.E.T. rankings, and they are 23rd in Ken Pomeroy’s College Basketball Ratings.
