Updating: Ohio State players, alumni react to Urban Meyer retiring

Players and staff responded to the announcement that the head coach was stepping down.

We learned early on Tuesday morning that Urban Meyer will be retiring from Ohio State football following the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1. The program will be left in extremely competent hands with Ryan Day tapped as the next head coach and several Meyer staffers reportedly being retained.

And, he’s not a Buckeye just yet, but Ohio State commit Garrett Wilson has (once again) re-affirmed his commitment to playing in Columbus — along with some other future Buckeyes.


Former Buckeyes:

Meyer coached in Columbus for seven seasons, and along the way had a huge impact on his players during that time — especially the guys he led to a College Football Playoff win at the end of the 2014 season.
