Just two days ago, the Ohio State women’s basketball team took to their home court for the final time of the 2017-18 season, and with a big 88-54 victory over Northwestern were one step closer to a Big Ten title. Thanks to a Maryland loss at Michigan on Thursday, the Buckeyes have a one-game lead heading into their final regular season game of the year, and have already clinched at least a piece of the championship pie.
This makes back-to-back titles for the Buckeyes, and the 16th Big Ten Championship in program history — the most of any other Big Ten school. Last year, they were forced to share the title with Maryland, and will be playing hard to be the sole champions this season. Heading into their final game before tournament play, Ohio State is 23-6 overall, and 12-3 in Big Ten play this season.
Ohio State will play their final game of the regular season on Sunday against Penn State in Happy Valley, and will claim either a share of the Big Ten Championship or win it outright by day’s end. (Seriously, why did it have to be Penn State?)
Ohio State will tip-off against Penn State in Happy Valley on Sunday, at Noon ET on ESPN2.
