With the spring game still on for Saturday afternoon, the Ohio State Buckeyes are still at work getting ready for their scrimmage in front of the Buckeye faithful. Over 75,000 tickets have been sold for the spring game, which is very good. Ohio Stadium is undergoing some construction right now, meaning that some seats are unavailable for purchase.
But, Saturday is still a couple days away; right now, though, the recruiting trail is still heating up for Urban Meyer and his program.
In the middle of things
Three-star offensive lineman Andrew Kristofic (Gibsonia, PA / Pine-Richland) made his way to Columbus to visit with Meyer. Things must’ve gone well, as Kristofic—a member of the 2019 class—tweeted a picture from his visit Wednesday night.

Last week, Kristofic made a visit to Clemson, and a week before that he was visiting at Notre Dame. Both of those schools, as well as the Wisconsin Badgers, are high on the 6-foot-6 guard’s list. However, according to Ryan Donnelly of Landof10, Kristofic’s visit to OSU was pulled together within the last two days.
Surprise Ohio State visit for Pennsylvania tackle Andrew Kristofic. This one wasn’t in the works until even 48 hours ago. Buckeyes still battling with Notre Dame, Clemson, and Wisconsin https://t.co/IX3Qx29nNk

With a trio of visits in as many weeks, Kristofic has been traveling all around the country. Those three schools (Ohio State, Clemson and Notre Dame) have to be feeling really good right now, as the OL mentioned to Donnelly that they are amongst the schools he’s feeling best about. Throw in the Badgers, and it looks to be a four-program race right now for the Pennsylvania native. However, the 247sports crystal ball tells a different story. Nine votes have been cast for Kristofic, and all nine of them point to a commitment to the Fighting Irish.
The Gibsonia product holds over 25 offers; additionally, he is the 50th best OL and 10th best player in PA for the ‘19 class. Even though he’s graded as a three-star, he can clear paths for his offense. Take a look at his Hudl highlight reel below.
The all-seeing Crystal Ball
Kristofic may be a heavy Notre Dame lean in terms of the predictions, but in the race for another member of the 2019 class, the 247sports Crystal Ball gave some good news to the Scarlet and Gray.
Two recruiting analysts—with Donnelly being one of them—made predictions that four-star wide receiver Garrett Wilson (Austin, TX / Lake Travis) is trending toward the Buckeyes. This is more good news for OSU in the pursuit of Wilson, as the four most recent votes in Wilson’s crystal ball have pointed to the Bucks being the likely landing spot.
The University of Texas, which is located in Austin, is seen as the other main contender for Wilson. With over 30 offers made to the WR, the Buckeyes have a great opportunity to showcase the program to the Lake Travis standout, as he’ll be making an official visit this Saturday for the spring game. Next weekend, according to his profile page on 247sports, Wilson will be swinging by the Texas Longhorn’s program—also slated as an official visit.
Surely within the next two weeks, we’ll have a lot clearer picture on where Wilson may be thinking about committing to. Right now, he’s one of the best WRs and Texas products in his class.
Quick Hit
- Four-star defensive end Ani Izuchukwu had a top three of OSU, Alabama and Mississippi State. On Wednesday, he committed to the Bulldogs, spurning the Buckeyes and Crimson Tide. Izuchukwu is a Nashville native, and is graded as the 14th best weak-side DE in the 2019 class.
