It’s finally here!
Months after the Cotton Bowl win closed out Ohio State’s 2017 season, the moment more than a dozen Buckeyes have been waiting for is finally upon us: the 2018 NFL Draft.
Tonight marks the first round of the event, and will get underway at 8 p.m. ET on NFL Network, ESPN/ESPN 2 and Fox. Each team will have 10 minutes to make their picks this round, and the Day 1 festivities should end just before midnight.
We know at least one Buckeye is expected to hear his name on Thursday, Denzel Ward, but there’s a chance that Billy Price and Sam Hubbard could end up sneaking into the first round too. All-in-all, there could be upwards of 8 to 9 Ohio State players picked throughout this draft weekend — and more should end up joining teams as undrafted free-agents.
We’ll update this post as each pick is made and debate teams’ choices in the comments.
Come fan with us!!!
Round 1 Draft Order
1. Cleveland Browns — QB Baker Mayfield (Oklahoma)
Ugh. How many times are people going to bring up him “planting the flag in Ohio” after this pick? Probably, a lot. I don’t think he’ll be another Johnny Manziel, and his energy is definitely something the Browns organization and fan base could use. It’s hard to imagine much that could turn things around North of Columbus, but we’ll see.

3. New York Jets (from Indianapolis) — QB Sam Darnold (USC)
4. Cleveland Browns (from Houston) — CB Denzel Ward (Ohio State)
