2019 TE Jahleel Billingsley

The weekend might’ve not ended with any verbal commitments for Ohio State, but many potential Buckeyes still found their names in the headline over the last few days.

Did you miss out of your OSU recruiting fix? Don’t worry, Land-Grant Holy Land has your back.

Recruits flock to Columbus

With numerous camps being held in the area a pretty solid list of prospects made the trek to the Ohio State University campus over the weekend to mingle with the coaching staff, and get a better feel on what it would be like to play their college ball for Urban Meyer and the Buckeyes.

Giving the Buckeyes a chance to show some of the top recruits in the Midwest what it would be like to suit up in the Scarlet and Gray, the Buckeyes had numerous prospects walk away from their time on campus highly impressed.

Below are just some of the recruits who reportedly had the chance to visit the OSU campus.

Thoughts: “I had a great weekend in Ohio. The visit to Ohio State was a great experience. I spoke with some of the position coaches and Urban Meyer himself which was really a dream come true. The tribute that they have to everyone that helped build the program was amazing to me. That school is one of a kind and is at the top of my interest list.”

OSU recruits “Get Open”

Following in the footsteps of a long list of former, future, and potential Buckeyes, three class of 2019 prospects with Ohio State ties were selected to participate in “The Opening”, a best-of-the-best camp being held in Texas later this summer.

Shining against the stiff competition on hand in Massillon for the regional camp, key OSU targets Zach Harrison, a defensive end from Olentangy Orange, West Bloomfield (MI) linebacker Lance Dixon, and Chicago tight end Jahleel Billingsley were among those picked to attend the event this go around.

Before they head to the longhorn state, all three of the aforementioned recruits will have tough decisions ahead of them.

A five-star prospect, the 6-foot-6, 240-pound Harrison is trying to set up visits, including one to Ohio State, after officially Penn State last month.

Dixon, who could also play safety on the next level, might be hard to pluck away from instate programs and OSU foes, Michigan, and Michigan State.

While it will be tough to add Dixon, Billingsley might be the Buckeyes best chance of landing a tight end. Al though it isn’t a position of much need in the 2019 class, Jahleel, a 6’-foot-5 standout is fresh off a visit to Columbus, where he walked away highly impressed with the coaching staff, and program as a whole.

All three recruits will be joined by current OSU pledges, offensive lineman Doug Nester, and wide receiver Garrett Wilson in Texas.
