Could a 4-star WR soon commit to Ohio State?

One of Ohio State’s top WR targets hints at committing soon.

Ohio State’s 2019 recruiting class is quickly shaping up to be one of the top classes in this year’s cycle. With a total of 14 verbal commitments, the Buckeyes sit at No. 14 nationally in the 247Sports Class Rankings and are No. 2 behind only Michigan in the Big Ten.

One of the stars of the class is five-star wide receiver Garrett Wilson, however, he is the only commitment at the position, which is also one of immediate need. The Buckeyes could realistically lose the majority of their starters at the wideout position following the 2018-19 season, so many predicted the position to be one the Ohio State coaching staff would prioritize in this year’s class as well as the 2020 class.

However, it looks likes the Buckeyes could soon earn their second verbal commitment at WR.

Four-star WR and possibly Ohio State’s top target at the position, Jameson Williams (Saint Louis, MO / Cardinal Ritter College Prep) took to Twitter late Sunday night hinting that his college decision could be coming soon.

Williams has long been associated with Ohio State due to their diligent work in his recruitment. The 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions has Ohio State well above the rest of the pack, with 94 percent of the 17 predictions.

The elite prospect officially visited with the program back in June, and while the visit went as well as expected, he has not been shy in seeing what other programs have to offer. Since his official visit to Columbus, Williams has been to Nebraska, Alabama and Oregon. While these were not official visits, he does have those set up as well with the previously mentioned schools in the upcoming months.

However, some believe a decision could come before any of those visits take place, and if this is the case, it bodes greatly for the Buckeyes.

Williams is viewed as the No. 24 WR in the 2019 recruiting class and is the No. 129 overall prospect despite position. If Ohio State is able to secure a commitment from him, he would pair excellently alongside Wilson.

Ohio State five-star C sets return visit

Ohio State’s future anchor of the offensive line will soon return to campus. Five-star center Harry Miller (Buford, GA / Buford) committed to Ohio State in June and will be in attendance when head coach Urban Meyer makes his return to the sidelines in Columbus.

Meyer is set to make his return for the Tulane game, and will more than likely be greeted by a full house, including Miller and his mother.

Miller will likely be joined by many other recruits on the sideline of Meyer’s first game as head coach of Ohio State in the 2018 season. Stay up to date on a list of players that will be in attendance for this game with Land-Grant Holy Land.
