For a week now, we’ve been discussing how Dwayne Haskins has been gliding under the Heisman radar, and should have better odds for winning the trophy. Well, after a stellar half against Tulane, the quarterback for the Ohio State Buckeyes saw his Heisman odds finally improve. Entering the week at 7-to-1, Haskins now sits in the No. 2 spot on Bovada’s Heisman board at 5-to-1. Only Alabama QB Tua Tagovailoa has better odds—he’s at 6-to-5.
While the running game hasn’t been as solid as it was in Week 1, J.K. Dobbins finds himself on Bovada’s board too. Dobbins is a longshot, though, at 80-to-1; prior to the Tulane contest, he held much better odds at 20-to-1.
As a team, the Buckeyes have the third best odds of winning the title. Ohio State improved to 9-to-2 odds this week—an improvement from 13-to-2 last week. Alabama and Clemson are, once again, the two programs in front of OSU in the eyes of the oddsmakers. The Tigers are holding down the No. 2 spot with 4-to-1 odds, while the Crimson Tide are listed as heavy favorites at 5-to-7 odds.
Penn State, OSU’s next opponent, has the seventh best odds in the nation to take home the title, coming into the primetime game with a 26-to-1 listing.
Below are some of the teams with the best odds to win the national title by season’s end.
