Ohio State offers 2022 cornerback Austin Jordan out of Texas

Already looking forward two years into the future, Ohio State offers 2022 CB Austin Jordan.

The Ohio State Buckeyes are riding high coming off of a dominating performance over Northwestern on a weird Friday night game.

The main reason that Ohio State’s football program has reached the elite level that it is currentlty at is due to former head coach Urban Meyer’s ability to recruit. That determination has lead to continued success under new head coach Ryan Day.

One of the ways that Day and the Ohio State football coaching staff are working to keep the ball rolling in the right direction is getting in early with the nation’s top talents. The Buckeyes already hold verbal commitments from five recruits in the 2021 class, coming in at No. 4 in the country and No. 1 in the Big Ten in the 247Sports Class Rankings.

On top of this, the Buckeyes sent out their 17th official scholarship offer in the 2022 class in cornerback Austin Jordan (Denton, TX / Ryan).

The Ohio State offer marks Jordan’s third offer to go along with Baylor and Washington State.

On first glance, the Buckeyes’ competition for Jordan would lead you to believe that the team will instantly jump into the driver’s seat for his recruitment, but the young DB will watch his offer list grow in the coming seasons. This is exactly why Day and the Buckeyes are getting in early in his recruitment. Getting a head start in the process will give the team a leg up against future competition as well.

With the expectation that the Buckeyes will lose multiple players in the secondary this year and next (BIA proving itself true time and time again) building depth at this position will be a must every recruiting cycle. Jordan is the third DB to receive an offer in 2022 along with five-star Domani Jackson and four-star Cristian Driver.
