Ohio State climbs in SB Nation FanPulse Top 25, remains atop LGHL poll

Despite the Badger’s loss last week, their game at The ‘Shoe is the second most anticipated of the week.

The feelings of the SB Nation FanPulse voters can be fickle, as after dropping to fourth in last week’s Top 25 Poll, the Ohio State Buckeyes moved back up to No. 3 following their 52-3 blowout victory over the Northwestern Wildcats.

This move was made possible, because the fans dropped Clemson down to fourth following their 45-10 win against Louisville. The Alabama Crimson Tide and LSU Tigers remained as the top two teams in the poll, with the Oklahoma Sooner capping the top five.

However, as has been the case in recent weeks, the Ohio State fans of Land-Grant Holy Land have had the Buckeyes in the top spot, and that continued this week. The big news at the top of the LGHL poll is that Buckeye Nation dropped Alabama to third behind LSU, who just so happens to be quarterbacked by former Buckeye Joe Burrow.

Also entering the mix when considering the Crimson Tide is that Tua Tagovailoa left Saturday’s game against Tennessee and had surgery on his ankle the next day. No word yet on how long the Heisman frontrunner will be out. ‘Bama plays Arkansas his week before having an open date to get ready to take on LSU.

And just because it’s fun, take a look at who is at No. 25 in both the SBN and LGHL polls. Personally, I think that’s almost even funnier than if they were not ranked at all.

In addition to the Top 25 Poll, the FanPulse survey asks additional questions every week, and this time around, it asked what games fans were most looking forward to from Week 9’s slate. Despite the loss tot he Fighting Lovie Smith’s, the Wisconsin-Ohio State game came in a close second behind Auburn and LSU.

Fortunately, since the Badgers and Buckeyes are playing this week’s Big Nude Noon Saturday game, the SEC’s Battle of the Tigers is in CBS’s traditional 3:30 p.m. ET slot, and ABC has the Catholics vs. the Khakis in primetime, you can watch all three of the most anticipated games without having to worry about missing a play while flipping.

FanPulse Week 9’s Most Anticipated Games

Auburn at LSU 38.90%
Wisconsin at Ohio State 34%
Notre Dame at Michigan 13.70%
North Dakota State at South Dakota State 5.50%
Washington State at Oregon 4.50%
Penn State at Michigan State 3.50%

And finally, every week, FanPulse gauges the level of confidence that fans have in the direction of their specific program. For the fifth time in a row — and sixth on the season — Ohio State fans have complete confidence in Ryan Day’s program.

While that is impressive, the five consecutive 100 percent is not the most on the season. Through eight weeks, three schools have been totally confident in the direction that their program was moving, with another getting there seven out of eight weeks.

Below, check out all of fanbases that are currently in the midst of multi-week 100 percent confidence streaks.
