Podcast: CJ Walker, Duane Washington Jr., Chris Holtmann preview Ohio State basketball

The season is a week away, and it’s time to get hyped for hoops!

NCAA Basketball: Big Ten Media Day Quinn Harris-USA TODAY Sports

Throughout the season, Land-Grant Holy Land will be bringing you uncut audio primarily from Ohio State press conference, but also from individual breakout sessions.

On today’s episode, we bring you audio from Tuesday, Oct. 29’s men’s basketball media availability when junior transfer guard CJ Walker, sophomore guard Duane Washington Jr., and head coach Chris Holtmann all spoke to reporters.

The 121st team in Ohio State Buckeyes men’s basketball history gets their season started on Wednesday, Nov. 6 as they host the Cincinnati Bearcats at the Value City arena. The Buckeyes enter the season ranked No. 18 in the AP Poll and No. 11 in Ken Pomeroy’s ratings.

Expectations are high for the Buckeyes after two seasons of over achieving and not only making the NCAA tournament in both years, but advancing both times as well. In addition to Walker being eligible to play after sitting out last season, Holtmann brought in the best recruiting class in the Big Ten conference this year in D.J. Carton, Alonzo Gaffney, E.J. Liddell, and Ibrahima Diallo.
