On Friday, the Ohio State football team released their depth chart and availability report for Saturday’s contest against the Michigan State Spartans. This week’s report seem to indicate that the Buckeyes are getting healthier as the season progresses, as defensive end Tyreke Smith and right tackle Branden Bowen have been cleared to play.
Bowen is back to his starting position at right tackle, after fellow senior Josh Alabi subbed in for him last week. Smith is listed as the backup to the also recently healthy Jonathon Cooper.
The list of players who have been ruled out for the primetime affair is smaller than it has been in recent weeks. This week, OSU will be without the services of Kamryn Babb, Noah Donald, Elijah Gardiner, Ronnie Hickman, Teradja Mitchell, and Taron Vincent.
The game-time decisions will include senior captain H-back C.J. Saunders, as well as tight end Rashod Berry and defensive end Tyler Friday.
With Ohio State getting healthier, there have been a few moves of note on the depth chart, Javontae Jean-Baptiste is now listed as Chase Young’s backup at one of the defensive end positions, while Zach Harrison has been moved to the third spot — behind Cooper and Smith — on the other side.
The No. 4 Ohio State Buckeyes will host Michigan State on Saturday, Oct. 5 at 7:30 p.m. ET at Ohio Stadium. The game will be broadcast on ABC.
