Before every Ohio State football game, the LGHL Tailgate podcast will get you ready with all of the information that you need for that day’s game. Legendary Columbus sports reporter Lori Schmidt from 610 WTVN will also join us to give her signature insight into the contest.
Let’s be honest, this is going to be a beatdown of massive proportions today in New Jersey. The Ohio State Buckeyes are favored to beat an opponent by more than 50 points for only the second time this century, following the 2013 game against Florida A&M.
So, because of that, head coach Ryan Day is being especially cautious, as he is holding out a number of key contributors who have been nursing injuries; Jonathon Cooper, Austin Mack, Baron Browning, and Joshua Alabi specifically.
As you are undoubtedly aware, Chase Young will be missing his second straight game in conjunction with the ludicrous NCAA violation that occurred surrounding the Rose Bowl on Jan. 1 of this year. However, the best player in college football will be back for No. 9 Penn State next week, and the rest of the season’s stretch run.
Since today’s game will be a blowout, Lori Schmidt and I decided to spend a little time talking about the future of the Ohio State program, and how Day is changing a few things from the Urban Meyer era.
