The No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes’ stud defensive end Chase Young will be back in action for today’s 12 noon ET matchup against the No. 8 Penn State Nittany Lions following his two game suspension for an NCAA rules violation. There’s sure to be a good amount of fanfare around the return of Ohio State’s star player, but what about the matchup between Ohio State and Penn State star fans? Both programs boast hoards of devoted A-listers, so let’s examine who has the edge there, since we already know who will have the edge on the field.

John Legend (OSU) v. - Keegan Michael Key (PSU)

Singer/songwriter John Legend is not shy when it comes to his Ohio State allegiance. The newly named Sexiest Man Alive regularly tweets support for the Buckeyes and throws shade on opposing teams, not to mention his incredible ten Grammy wins. The Springfield, Ohio native is certainly one of the most famous and outspoken Ohio State supporters and has brought his family into the mix.

Comedian Keegan Michael Key — who bears a striking resemblance to Penn State head coach James Franklin — is a Penn State alum, even leading the team out of the tunnel last year at Beaver Stadium. Key, who received his master of fine arts degree from Penn State in 1996, is slated to host a new sports-game show with Venus Williams and Rob Gronkowski.

While comedy is key, John is a legend.

Winner = Ohio State.

J.K. Simmons (OSU) v. Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner (PSU)

No, Joe Jonas and Sophie Turner are not Penn State alums, but the pair has been spotted in Happy Valley in the past year supporting Penn State’s THON and the Nits’ football team. The Queen of the North herself was spotted at a popular Penn State bar in April and even recorded her adoring Penn Staters chanting “Lady Stark” on Instagram.

However, even Penn State fans aren’t exactly sure why the couple cares about the school, and despite the reason, Turner only comes to it by marriage, so it doesn’t count as much.

On the other hand, iconic stage and screen actor J.K. Simmons has been very vocal about the fact that he bleeds scarlet and gray, even narrating the Big Ten Network’s docuseries on the program following the 2014 national championship season.

While the Oscar winner was born in Michigan, he grew up in Worthington while his father taught music at Ohio State. Simmons even briefly attended Ohio State before transferring when his father became the director of the School of Music at the University of Montana. Simmons has been in attendance for a number of games over the years, always sporting his Buckeye attire.

And who doesn’t love Simmons’ annual tradition of trolling Michigan Man Rich Eisen.

While the Queen of the North will always reign, even she can’t keep up with his tempo.

Winner = Ohio State

LeBron James (OSU) v. Ali Krieger (PSU)

LeBron James is arguably the greatest basketball player of all time and the Kid from Akron is never sparse in showing his love for Ohio State. He’s even stated multiple times that if he had to go to college for one year, he would have been playing for the Buckeyes. James is a 3x NBA champion, boasts two Olympic gold medals, and certifiable G.O.A.T. status.

And his “Ohio Against the World” mantra has become a rallying cry for Buckeye fans everywhere.

On the other side, US women’s national team defender Ali Krieger played soccer for the Nittany Lions. Krieger notably broke her leg during her junior season and suffered severe complications from her injury, only to return her senior year and help lead her team to a Big Ten title.

Not only is she 2x World Cup champion, but Krieger is part of the group of players that have filed suit against US Soccer for pay disparity (Shoutout to equal pay!).

Both athletes are world champions in and outside of their sport, advocating for equality and making differences in their communities.

Winner = Humanity... but also Ohio State.
