Update: On Saturday afternoon, Pittsburgh Police confirmed that the district attorney recommended Pryor be charged with simple assault, while Shalaya Briston has bee charged with Criminal Attempt Homicide and Aggravated Assault.
A spokesperson for Pryor’s family said that the former OSU quarterback is out of surgery for now, but is being held in critical condition for the time being.

According to WTAE in Pittsburgh, former Ohio State quarterback Terrelle Pryor Sr. was stabbed overnight. The network’s sources say that he is in critical condition. WTAE also reports that police have an unidentified woman in custody “in connection with the stabbing.” Pryor is a native of Jeannette, Penn., which is a suburb of Pittsburgh.

Pryor played for the Buckeyes from 2008-10 and was named the 2008 Big Ten Freshman of the Year, 2010 Rose Bowl MVP, and was an All-Big Ten selection.
During his NFL career, Pryor has been a member of nine teams, including some on the practice squad and during the offseason. He most recently played for the Buffalo Bills during the 2018 season, and was in offseason camp with the Jacksonville Jaguars before the 2019 season.
According to ESPN’s Adam Schefter, Pryor underwent surgery overnight. He was reportedly stabbed in the shoulder and chest.
