Just days after signing one of the top overall rated 2020 classes in college football, Ryan Day and company are on the path to try and repeat their success on the recruiting trail for 2021.
With numerous highly rated junior recruits on board, a four-star 2021 athlete announced on Friday afternoon, his grandmothers birthday, that he too could continue his education and playing days down the line in Columbus.
Charles Montgomery, a 5-foot-10, 185-pound playmaker from Armwood High School in Valrico, Florida, took to his Twitter page to release his current top five programs. Trimming things down from nearly 20 scholarship offers, Ohio State is still in the mix alongside Maryland, Penn State, Florida State, and Nebraska for his skills.

A threat to reach the endzone every time he touches the ball, Montgomery, the No. 22 athlete and No. 256 overall prospect in the class of 2022 per the 247Sports Composite Rankings, was a big reason the Armwood Hawks made a deep run in Florida’s state playoffs this past season. Finishing the year at 12-2, Montgomery ended his junior campaign with 41 receptions for 720 yards and eight touchdowns, while also rushing for 301 yards and another six TDs on the ground.
While some recruits have still yet to make it to town to mingle with Day and the rest of the Buckeyes coaching staff, Montgomery knows what it feels like to take in a big game in Ohio Stadium. Making the trek from Florida to Columbus, he was one of the many recruits who visited for Ohio State’s victory over Wisconsin in October.
