On today’s episode, we are in conversation with Josh and Daniel from College Football Nerds. Every week throughout the season, they put together videos breaking down the biggest match-ups every week from a statistical and analytical perspective. For the Fiesta Bowl, their computer model has the game about as close as can be with the No. 3 Clemson Tigers projected to score 27.85 points to No. 2 Ohio State Buckeyes’ 27.4.
In the conversation, they discuss the uncertainty that arises because neither team has faced competition like they will see on Saturday. They also discuss how under-appreciated J.K. Dobbins is in Ohio State’s offense, how OSU’s defense matches up against Clemson’s passing game, and the importance of Justin Fields’ health.
Also, in the conversation, Josh talked about a tweet that they sent out discussing Ohio State’s alignment advantage. Here’s that tweet:

Ohio State kills you by spreading you out. It takes 6 players to man up on 4 WRs, JK, and Fields. That leaves just 3/4 DL and 2/1 S. Simmons is stuck playing assignment football. https://t.co/1kCVKnmCCo
