Despite the rough stretch for Ohio State basketball, it’s going to be ok

On the latest podcast, we talk about why things continue to be so difficult for Chris Holtmann’s squad.

NCAA Basketball: Ohio State at Michigan State Mike Carter-USA TODAY Sports

Despite a three-game winning streak to start the month of February, the Ohio State men’s basketball team has dropped its last two games in startlingly different fashions; the first to give the Illinois Fighting Illini its 10th win of the season, and the second blowing a second half lead with an almost unimaginable field goal drought down the stretch against then-No. 11 Michigan State.

On the latest episode of the Hangout in the Holy Land podcast, Matt Tamanini and Patrick Mayhorn discuss the main issues that continue to haunt Chris Holtmann’s team, and what they need to do in order to give themselves a shot at making the NCAA Tournament.

Also, despite the 12-1 start to the season, both Matt and Patrick realize that this was always what this OSU team was supposed to be, as it transitioned from the Thad Matta Era to Holtmann’s.

Later in the show, the guys discuss what to expect from Ryan Day and company’s first spring game, how Mike Yurcich should use DeMario McCall, and what Justin Fields will bring to the new Buckeye offense.
