Top prospects flock to Columbus
While you might’ve took it easy, newly hired head coach Ryan Day and the rest of the Ohio State coaching staff were hard at work trying to move up the leader lists of a number of highly sought after high school football prospects.
In fact, Coach Day and company were able to secure a commitment from 2021 defensive end Jack Sawyer on Sunday afternoon.

- Ohio State offered four-star class of 2020 defensive end Amin Vanover on Friday. Vanover, a 6-foot-4, 240-pound junior from St. Joseph Regional in Montvale, NJ adds the scholarship from the Buckeyes to his growing list that previously consisted of programs such as Clemson, Kentucky, Nebraska, Oregon and Texas A&M.
- The wait is almost over for Indianapolis Ben Davis offensive tackle Dawand Jones. Per Kyle Neddenriep, the massive 6-foot-8, 360-pound big man will announce his college destination at 6:30 p.m. on National Signing Day. Down to five programs, Jones will put pen to paper with either Ohio State, Florida, Indiana, Penn State or USC on Wednesday.
