Ohio State’s football program is getting ready for a huge recruiting weekend as multiple of the nation’s top talents announced they will be making the trek to Columbus at the end of this week.
The group of visitors is so large, that it will likely be the biggest recruiting weekend for the Buckeyes this off-season until the annual Friday Night Lights camp.
Below are a list of recruits who have already announced a plan to visit campus this weekend. Expect this list to grow in the coming days.
4-star S Lejond Cavazos
Class: 2020
Hometown: Bradenton, FL / IMG Academy
Meausrables: 6-foot-1 / 190 pounds
LSU & Ohio State next week... ️❤️
— Lejond Cavazos (@lejondaryy) March 14, 2019
Summary: The first to publicly announce the visit to Ohio State this weekend was former Ohio State commit Lejond Cavazos. The one time future Buckeye decommitted from the program following the news of Urban Meyer’s departure from heading the Ohio State football team.
However, he has long said that the Buckeyes are still one of his top schools. In fact, Ohio State still holds an overwhelming majority of the 247Sports Crystal Ball Predictions at 73-percent.
Cavazos is one of Ohio State’s biggest priorities in this year’s class as the program is looking to add multiple talents in the secondary to both add depth for this year’s roster and potential starters for the following season. Securing a commitment from the elite safety would take Ohio State’s 2020 recruiting class to the next level, and it is already viewed as a top five class.
Cavazos is the No. 21 safety in this year’s class and is the No. 283 overall prospect, according to the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
5-star WR Julian Fleming
Class: 2020
Hometown: Catawissa, PA / Southern Columbia
Meaurables: 6-foot-3 / 210 pounds
Oh and @julian_040 will be with me at Ohio State this weekend... ️
— Lejond Cavazos (@lejondaryy) March 17, 2019
Summary: While yet to be publicly announced by Fleming himself, the country’s top WR prospect looks to also be joining Cavazos this weekend in Columbus.
The five-star WR has long been associated with Ohio State and included the program in his top 6 schools last month. As well as the Buckeyes, Fleming included Clemson, Penn State, Oregon, Georgia and Alabama in his list.
Fleming last visited Ohio State in November, and the visit this weekend will be his first time back on campus. This visit is crucial for the Buckeyes as Penn State is the current favorite to land his commitment.
Fleming is the No. 1 WR prospect in this years class and the No. 5 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings.
3-star ATH Cameron Martinez
Class: 2020
Hometown: Muskegon, MI / Muskegon
Measurables: 5-foot-11 / 175 pounds
Possibly MSU Friday, ⭕️SU Saturday, U〽️ Sunday!
— Cameron Martinez (@CM240) March 18, 2019
Summary: Martinez also announced that he will be making the trek down from TSUN to visit Ohio State this weekend.
Listed as an athlete, Martinez projects to be either a CB or a safety at the next level and although he is currently listed as only a three-star prospect, don’t let that get in the way of his potential.
Martinez has an impressive offer sheet including the likes of Ohio State, Michigan, Michigan State, Northwestern, etc. Currently he is heavily favored to commit to Michigan but a solid visit this weekend could certainly change things.
Martinez is the No. 28 ATH in the country as well as the No. 408 overall prospect.
DT Elliot Donald
Class: 2021
Hometown: Pittsburgh, PA / Central Catholic
Measurables: 6-foot-2 / 220 pounds
Ohio State this weekend!!!⭕️
— Elliot Donald (@ElliotDonald3) March 17, 2019
Summary: A member of next year’s class, Donald is getting a visit in with Ohio State early.
Although he has yet to receive a ranking by most college football recruiting databases, Donald has shown the potential to be a blue-chip prospect in 2021. As well as Ohio State, Donald already holds a reported 10 scholarship offers from the likes of Notre Dame, Penn State, Pittsburgh, etc.
The rising DT also has an uncle that you will recognize, LA Rams DT Aaron Donald.
If the high school junior is able to play even close to his uncle in the next two seasons of high school ball he has remaining, expect him to shoot up in the rankings.
4-Star CB Henry Gray
Class: 2020
Hometown: Miami, FL / Miami Central
Measurables: 5-foot-11.5 / 172 pounds
Family reunion https://t.co/3pVzmvd9Jf
— Goated (@D1bound_zay2121) March 18, 2019
Summary: Replying to Donald’s Tweet, Gray announced that he too will be on Ohio State’s campus this weekend.
Gray has been on the Buckeyes’ radar for a while now and recently the work they have put in on recruiting him paid off, as the four-star CB included the school among his top eight schools. As well as Ohio State, Gray included Penn State, Auburn, Kentucky, Clemson, Georgia, Tennessee and Florida.
Ohio State is currently viewed as the favorite to land Henry and a strong visit this weekend with other recruits he is familiar with should make him feel even more at home in Columbus.
Gray is listed as the No. 6 CB in the country as well as the No. 73 overall prospect.
4-Star ATH Emeka Egbuka
Class: 2020
Hometown: Steilacoom, WA / Steilacoom
Measurables: 6-foot-1 / 190 pounds
Ohio State 22nd and 23rd for practice ⭕️ #GoBucks @brianhartline
— Emeka ‘21 (@emeka_egbuka) March 18, 2019
Summary: One of the biggest prospects in next year’s class Egbuka, announced that not only would he be making the cross country trip to Columbus this weekend, he will also be in town for two days.
The blue-chip prospect has yet to receive an official star rating in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, as have all recruits in the 2021 class, but he does hold four stars in the 247Sports Rankings.
Despite having two years of high school football remaining, he has already amassed a list of scholarship offers from the likes of Alabama, Florida State, Stanford, Washington, Michigan, Texas A&M and plenty of others.
While currently Florida State and Washington are viewed as the leaders in his recruitment, a solid weekend visit could put Ohio State right in the mix of things.
Egbuka is viewed as the No. 2 ATH in the 2021 class and the No. 38 overall prospect in next year’s class.
CB Miquan Grace
Class: 2020
Hometown: Cincinnati, OH / Winton Woods
Measurables: 6-foot / 186 pounds
OHIO STATE THIS WEEKEND @OhioStateFB #UN4GETTABLE #4THEFAMILY #4US #IM4 @11WRecruiting @11W @JSnodsEnq @BuckeyesCrootin @mlaughman @Local12Jed @ryandaytime @BillBankGreene @OSUCoachHinton @Bill_Kurelic pic.twitter.com/Ee1e5T7ow8
— Ball Hawk 4 (@MiquanGrace3) March 18, 2019
Summary: Grace has yet to earn an official scholarship offer from Ohio State but that could change following this weekend.
Though the hometown prospect doesn’t hold star ranking in the 247Sports Composite Rankings, he is viewed as a three-star according to the 247Sports Rankings. And while this may be a turn off for some members of Buckeye Nation, know that Ohio State doesn’t offer in-state prospects unless they are sure of their talent.
To further prove his potential, Grace has received scholarship offers to play for Kentucky, Ball State, Cincinnati, Maryland, Kent State among others and has received attention from Michigan State as well.
If the Buckeyes do extend the offer to Grace, the CB would likely be on commitment watch.
Quick Hit:

Today we learned that the big man not only earned an official scholarship offer from Ohio State following the visit but that the team is also included in his top two schools, along with Pittsburgh, according to Jake Weingarten of stockrisers.com.
