Ohio State set for Sunday game with Houston in NCAA Tournament Round of 32 schedule

The Buckeyes will look to cap another Tulsa evening with a victory.

NCAA Basketball: NCAA Tournament-First Round-Iowa State vs Ohio State Mark J. Rebilas-USA TODAY Sports

Coming into Friday night’s NCAA Tournament games, very few — if any — who weren’t wearing scarlet and gray, expected the No. 11 Ohio State Buckeyes to be able to defeat the red-hot Big 12 Tournament champs, the No. 6 Iowa State Cyclones. Yet, behind a dominating performance by Kaleb Wesson — coupled with an outstanding evening by Keyshawn Woods — the Buckeyes extended their season by at least one more game.

Next up for OSU is Kelvin Sampson’s third-seeded Houston Cougars, the American Athletic Conference regular season champions. The Cougs have gone 32-3 on the season, including a 16-2 mark in conference. However, they fell in the finals of their conference tournament against the Cincinnati Bearcats; the team that OSU knocked off to open the season.

We will have much more about Houston throughout the weekend as we work our way up to Sunday night’s game, but first let’s make sure that we’ve got our schedules lined up appropriately.

The Buckeye-Cougar second round game will tip at approximately 8:40 p.m. ET/7:40 p.m. CT on Sunday night. The game will follow the matchup between the No. 3 Texas Tech Red Raiders and the No. 6 Buffalo Bulls, which is slated to start at 6:10 p.m. ET. Both of Sunday’s games in Tulsa, Oklah. will be broadcast on TNT and will feature the broadcast team of Brad Nessler, former UCLA head coach Steve Lavin, and Ohio State legend Jim Jackson on the call, with Evan Washburn patrolling the sidelines.
