Despite rumors, the Giants are still the favorite to draft Dwayne Haskins

And even if he falls, he’s still a highly favored first round pick.

There has been a lot of speculation, particularly over the past couple of weeks, about where Ohio State quarterback Dwayne Haskins might land in next week’s 2019 NFL Draft. Rumors started early that he’d be taken at No. 6 by the Giants, and now people have him falling throughout Round 1 — and some even later.

If you’re looking to place a wager on where the Buckeye QB will land, here are the odds according to FanDuel’s Sportsbook:

The Giants are still the favorite, even though recent reports have team GM Dave Gettleman interested in another quarterback with the Top 10 pick — Duke QB, Daniel Jones. It also wouldn’t be entirely surprising for the New York franchise to — yet again — whiff on taking a passer in the first round altogether and wait until later on.

Should that happen, things could get interesting for Haskins. He met with the Broncos last week, and not only wore a No. 7 jersey in honor of John Elway — with whom he was meeting — but also made an impression on one of the game’s best defenders. Von Miller said that if Haskins is available when Denver is on the clock, he’s the guy he’d pick.

There’s also been several mock drafts that have the Ohio State quarterback staying in the Buckeye state and heading south to Cincinnati. This wouldn’t be a terrible option for Haskins. He’d have a familiar face at center, with Billy Price heading into his second season, and the Bengals’ new head coach Zac Taylor may want to have his own quarterback and finally move on from Andy Dalton.

For all of these rumors, there’s dozens more predicting he lands elsewhere, but if you’re looking to put some money on the outcome, you’ve got just under a week left to do it.
