While the big recruiting weekend didn’t produce as many BOOMs as many Ohio State Buckeyes’ fans would have liked, Ryan Day and company picked up a big pledge on Wednesday evening as four-star 2021 offensive tackle Ben Christman committed to play his college football in Columbus.

The Richfield, Ohio native is currently rated as the 44th best player in the country and second in the stats by 247Sports Composite rankings. Standing 6-foot-6, and weighing in at 299 pounds, the latest commitment further cements OSU’s place at the top of the Big Ten recruiting rankings and moves them further up the national rankings, where they currently sit in third behind only Miami and Notre Dame.

Christman also held offers from Alabama, Georgia, Florida, LSU, Michigan, Michigan State, Noitre Dame, Penn State, and many other programs. Tony Alford and Greg Studrawa were the primary Buckeye coaches who recruited the talented tackle.

Christman is now the fourth player pledged to the OSU 2021 class, and the first on the offensive line. He joins five-star defensive end Jack Sawyer, and fellow four-star prospects quarterback Kyle McCord and wide receiver Jayden Ballard.
