On Land-Grant Holy Land In Conversation, we talk to people in and around Ohio State athletics, and the sporting world at large, to bring you a different insight and perspective to the teams, athletes, and university that you love.
Today, we are in conversation with not one, but two coaches who will be heading up basketball teams filled with former Ohio State players and taking to the hardwood in Columbus this weekend as part of 2019’s The Basketball Tournament.
First, we’ll hear from Buckeye legend and OSU’s Director of Recruiting and Player Development Scoonie Penn, who is coaching Carmen’s Crew. His roster features fan favorites like Aaron Craft, John Diebler, David Lighty, LaQuinton Ross, William Buford, Evan Ravenel and more.
Then, we will talk to former Buckeye guard and current GA on Chris Holtmann’s staff Andrew Dakich, who is coaching team Big X, which includes former Buckeyes Jae’Sean Tate, C.J. Jackson, and Keyshawn Woods.
Big X will tip off against the West Virginia Wildcats at 7 p.m. ET on Friday night, and Carmen’s Crew will follow them, taking on Illinois B.C. at approximately 9 p.m. ET. Both games will take place at Capital University and will be broadcast of ESPN 2. You can get more information here.
Land-Grant Holy Land will be be covering the entire TBT for both Buckeye-filled teams on the site, and on Twitter @LandGrant33. So, join us and follow along.
