It has been a whirlwind of a last few days for Ohio State recruiting. Less than a week ago it looked like the Buckeyes were on the brink of obtaining commitments from two of the nation’s top running backs.

Unfortunately, there is no such thing as a certainty when it comes to college football recruiting and this past weekend was all the proof that Ohio State wasn’t looking for.

Four-star RB Jaylan Knighton (Deerfield Beach, FL / Deerfield) is set to announce his school of choice later today and it appears that Florida State will now be the team to earn his commitment. Ohio State has not been officially eliminated from the discussion, but OSU appears to be an unlikely choice.

So who will Ohio State look to now that both Knighton and Bijan Robinson are likely out? Don’t worry, Land-Grant Holy Land’s own Patrick Mayhorn has you covered.

Four-star Small Forward has Ohio State in top 10

Switching over to the hardwood, Ohio State head coach is back on the recruiting grind and it paid off Monday when one of the nation’s top talents listed the program in his top ten schools.

Four-star small forward Jalen Bridges (Fairmont, WV / Fairmont) narrowed down his offer list of more than 30 schools to ten Monday and the Buckeyes will have some stiff competition if they are going to earn his commitment.

Alongside Ohio State, Bridges included Alabama, Miami, Indiana, Xavier, West Virginia, Pitt, USC and Oklahoma State.

Holtmann has already proven in a short amount of time the type of prowess he will bring to Ohio State recruiting. While he has yet to secure his first commitment in 2020, the school finished off the 2019 cycle ranked No. 13 in the country and No. 1 in the Big Ten. Along with this, the team has already landed a pledge in the 2021 cycle with four-star power forward Kalen Etzler.

Now, earning a commitment from Bridges will not be easy and will take some of Holtmann’s best work. Bridges spoke with Jake Weingarten of stockrisers.com recently and listed off Alabama, Xavier and Miami as schools he is “definitely visiting.” If Ohio State is going to make a run for Bridges, it will need to get on his list for a visit, whether official or unofficial, hopefully both.
