You like free money, right? Who doesn’t like free money? Well, based on some betting lines released by BetOnline.ag, you might be able to bet on a Buckeye and earn yourself some cash. Last week, the online betting site released over/unders for some high profile quarterbacks, running backs, and wide receivers.
The only Buckeye on their list is RB J.K. Dobbins, and his numbers feel really low. The o/u is set at 1,100 rushing yards and 10.5 combined rushing and receiving touchdowns. Keep in mind that these totals are just for the regular season, and won’t count any potential Big Ten Championship, bowl, or College Football Playoff games.
Keep in mind that as the primary back — due to Mike Webber’s injury — Dobbins went for 1,403 rushing yards and eight TDs as a true freshman in 2017. Then last season, even though he was splitting carries with Webber, he went for 1,053 yards and 12 TDs.
Throughout fall camp it has been made very clear by the entire OSU coaching staff that Dobbins is RB1, and it wasn’t until the middle of last week that running backs coach Tony Alford finally confirmed that Demario McCall would be his primary backup.
And while Land-Grant Holy Land has been very vocally on the Demario Train for years, even though he won the backup job, it doesn’t sound like he is going to push to take carries away from Dobbins. So, it is difficult to imagine that — barring injury — Dobbins won’t be on track for career highs in every substantive category. So, while we are providing these lines for entertainment purposes only, it seems like there is money to be had.
In addition to Dobbins, check out the o/u numbers for some of the biggest players in college football including Tua Tagovailoa, Trevor Lawrence, Jonathan Taylor, Rondale Moore, and others.
