Ohio State shows off fancy additions to Woody Hayes Athletic Center

Yeah, I think I could spend some time there.

Matt Tamanini Matt Tamanini is the co-managing editor of Land-Grant Holy Land having joined the site in 2016.

On Friday, not only did the Ohio State Buckeyes football team open up training camp for the 2019 season, but for the first time, they also opened up the newly renovated Woody Hayes Athletic Center to the media.

With Ryan Day now officially the head coach at OSU, some upgrades were in order for the football team’s home, as the facilities arms race is never over in college football.

In multiple places inside the Woody, there are some not-so-subtle reminders of the importance of “The Game” and the program’s rich and storied history.

However, there are also some exciting bells and whistles that should help make the players (and recruits) feel like the WHAC is a place that they would like to spend a significant portion of their collegiate years.

In addition to an arcade, there is a golf simulator, a basketball court specifically for the football team, and a barbershop; not to mention the state of the art weight room and treatment facilities.
