It’s September, which means college football is in full swing. But recruiting never stops and the 2021 recruiting class will begin to see a boost. While teams are surely looking to get that final piece to close out the 2020 class, the regular season being in place means coaches have to prioritize their time.

Following an impressive week one victory, Ryan Day and the Ohio State Buckeyes football team had a three-day weekend to rest up before former Buckeye interim-head coach Luke Fickell and Cincinnati come to town.

However, between the holiday weekend and already planning for next week, Day and his coaching staff were business as usual as the program offered one of the quickest rising prospects in the 2021 recruiting class.

Two-way athlete Charles Montgomery (Varico, FL / Armwood) took to Twitter to show off his official Ohio State scholarship offer Monday afternoon.

Montgomery has seen his recruitment take off in the last few months, not in terms of a quantity of offers, but in quality. Since the start of the summer, Montgomery has earned offers to play for both Alabama and now Ohio State. The two powerhouse programs now join the likes of West Virginia, Maryland, South Carolina and Iowa State. However, if two of the best college football programs in the country have taken notice to Montgomery’s talents, expect more to follow soon.

The explosive athlete will likely play wide receiver at the next level and is off to a fast start in his junior season of play. Take a look at some of his highlights from this past weekend:

Montgomery is currently viewed as the No. 23 athlete in next year’s class and is the No. 262 overall prospect in the 247Sports Composite Rankings. If he continues at his current pace, he will likely see a rise in those rankings sooner than later.
