The Ohio State Buckeyes defeated the Cincinnati Bearcats 42-0 at home on Saturday. The LSU Tigers defeated the Texas Longhorns 45-38 on the road on Saturday. While UC had been receiving votes in polls, UT was No. 9 last week. So, despite the fact that both OSU and LSU had strong performances, the Tigers jumped the Buckeyes in both the AP and Coaches Top 25 Polls following Week 2 action.

The AP top five has the Clemson Tigers at No. 1, followed by the Alabama Crimson Tide at No. 2, the Georgia Bulldogs at No. 3, LSU at No. 4 and the Oklahoma Sooners at No. 5.

Thanks to their disappointing 24-21 double-overtime win over Army, the Michigan Wolverines fell to No. 10, but the Maryland Terrapins entered the Top 25 at No. 21 thanks to their 63-20 win over the previously No. 21 Syracuse Orange.

Other Big Ten teams in the in the AP Top 25 include No. 13 Penn State, No. 14 Wisconsin, No. 18 Michigan State, and No. 19 Iowa. Thanks to their 34-31 defeat by the Colorado Buffaloes, the Nebraska Cornhuskers — who had been ranked at No. 25 — fall out of the rankings this week.
