Linebacker coach Al Washington and recently departed secondary coach Jeff Hafley were Johnson’s primary recruiters. The 6-foot-1, 205 pound safety also had offers from Penn State, Michigan State, Cincinnati, Kentucky, West Virginia, and others.
He is currently ranked as the No. 421 prospect in the national recruiting class, the 18th safety, and 11th best player in the state of Ohio in the 2021 cycle according to 247Sports Composite Rankings. He becomes the first defensive back to join the Buckeyes’ 2021 recruiting class which is currently rated as the top crop in the country.
The buckeyes will be hoping to hear another BOOM tomorrow as four-star 2021 offensive tackle Donovan Jackson at 4 p.m. ET.
