Hangout in the Holy Land is back to give you their breakdown of all things Buckeyes. The hosts are new, the football season is new, but the sarcasm hasn’t changed a bit. Join George Eisner and myself all year long as we break down Ohio State’s opponents and recap the Buckeyes’ performance each weekend.

We’ve had an extra week between games this time around — although not really considering Ohio State has played basically every other week as a result of numerous cancellations — but Hangout in the Holy Land is back to preview the biggest game of the year. Everyone wanted to see a rematch between the Buckeyes and the Clemson Tigers as soon as the 2019 Fiesta Bowl came to a close, but we didn’t think the road that got us here would be as winding and treacherous as the 2020 season has been.
On today’s episode, George and I break down this year’s matchup. While the logos on the front of the jerseys and the quarterbacks remain the same from last time around, the rosters are very different. Gone are some big names like J.K. Dobbins, Chase Young, Isaiah Simmons and Tee Higgins, and in their place are largely a bunch of question marks. Still, we are in for another matchup between two of the nation’s top quarterbacks in Trevor Lawrence and Justin Fields.
This week, we take a look at some of the key areas on both sides of the ball. How will Ohio State look to attack this year’s Clemson defense? Will Ryan Day come out aggressively throwing the ball like last season, or will they look to establish the ground game to set up the play action? How will the Buckeye defense look to slow down Lawrence in the ground game as well as take away the receiving threat of running back Travis Etienne? There is a lot to break down heading into this game, and we try to touch on many of the big storylines.
We will be back on Sunday following the game for what hopefully will not be our last episode of the year. We hope you will tweet us @HolyLandPod with your postgame questions and hot takes, and we will try to read as many of them as possible on the show.
Looking forward to hearing feedback from you guys. As always, if you like what we’re doing, be sure to subscribe and drop a review on Apple Podcasts. We’ll see ya after the game!
