Trio of Florida natives receive Ohio State offers over the weekend

The Buckeyes handed out a few scholarships the past few days

On Saturday Ryan Day and the rest of the Ohio State coaching staff landed a verbal commitment from four-star 2021 defensive tackle Michael Hall of Streetsboro (OH), but that wasn’t the only recruiting news surrounding the Buckeyes over the weekend.

Buckeyes dish out offers

Before you can announce your verbal pledge to Ryan Day and crew, you have to lock up a scholarship offer first. On Friday, numerous highly sought after prospects did just that, kicking off their weekend with a chance to don the Scarlet and Gray at the collegiate level.

Entering the recruitment race for a pair of current University of Florida commits, and another highly considering the Gators, the Buckeyes have their work cut out for them to get them to the Midwest. Below are the three class of 2021 prospects from the Sunshine State who now have a chance to call Columbus their future home.

Four-star DE Tyreak Sapp

Class: 2021

Town/School: Fort Lauderdale, FL/St Thomas Aquinas

Size: 6-foot-2/255 pounds

Status: Verbally committed to the University of Florida

Four-star ATH Kamar Wilcoxson

Class: 2021

Town/School: Bradenton, FL/IMG Academy

Size: 6-foot-1/190 pounds

Status: Verbally committed to the University of Florida

Four-star DE Dallas Turner

Class: 2021

Town/School: Fort Lauderdale, FL/American Heritage

Size: 6-foot-3/222 pounds

Other Offers: Alabama, Baylor, Florida, Florida State, Georgia and more

  • Class of 2021 four-star defensive end Jahvaree Ritzie released his top 12 over the weekend. Rounding out the current short list for the 6-foot-3, 265-pound North Carolina native are Ohio State, South Carolina, North Carolina, Georgia, Florida, Michigan, Oklahoma. Tennessee, Kentucky, Duke, Wake Forest and North Carolina State.
  • Ohio State visited Central High in Traverse City (MI) and class of 2022 outside linebacker Joshua Burnham on Friday. Burnham, yet to pick up a scholarship from the Buckeyes, holds early offers from the likes of Big Ten foes including Iowa, Michigan State and Wisconsin.
