On LGHL’s Outside the Shoe podcast, we talk all things Ohio State athletics that happen outside the confines of the Horseshoe.

On the show today, Meredith talks about Ohio State softball which, despite it still being winter in the midwest, is kicking off today. Fortunately for the Buckeyes, they’re traveling to the Carolina Classic, hosted by South Carolina, to face the 19th-ranked Gamecocks, along with Southern Illinois, North Dakota State and UNC Greensboro.

The Buckeyes had a historic season in 2019, winning 17 conference games for the first time since 1994, but unfortunately stalled when it came to the postseason, falling in both the Big Ten Tournament and in the Knoxville Regional of the NCAA Tournament. However, they’ll be looking to get over the hump in 2020 and bring home a Big Ten title and, perhaps, move past the regional round in the NCAA Softball Tournament.
