On LGHL’s podcast Play Like a Girl, we talk all things Ohio State football, and talk to and about women in and around Ohio State athletics and beyond.

The 2020 Summer Olympics are set to begin on Friday, July 24, in Tokyo, Japan, although, many are questioning whether the world-wide event should continue as planned, due to the universal fear of the Coronavirus. However, Dr. Brian McCloskey, who led public health planning for the London 2012 Olympics, said there’s no need to worry.

“The Olympics have never been canceled because of an issue like this previously,” McCloskey told ESPN.com. “We are seeing various sporting events and other big gatherings being canceled at the moment. That’s primarily because of the degree of uncertainty. I think that people are nervous because they don’t know what’s happening. My view is that there is no need to worry about the Olympics.”

Tia and Meredith discuss their thoughts on the Olympics continuing as planned, other events being cancelled because of the virus, and what the Tokyo organizers are doing now to prepare for it.

They end the show with a special announcement regarding the future of LGHL and what you can expect from yours truly!
