After losing the likes of Kaleb Wesson, D.J. Carton, Alonzo Gaffney, and Luther Muhammad, Chris Holtmann and the Ohio State coaching staff have again hit the transfer portal trying to add more pieces to future seasons’ rosters. Already locking up a pledge from Columbus Northland alum and former Harvard standout Seth Towns, Holtmann and crew have now landed another prized prospect from the portal.
Committing to Ohio State on Monday afternoon over the likes of Butler, Gonzaga, Minnesota, Missouri, Vanderbilt, and Xavier, former Bucknell guard Jimmy Sotos will spend the rest of his college career in the Big Ten and suit up for the Buckeyes.
A sit one, play one transfer — unless the NCAA switches things up due to the Covid-19 outbreak — Sotos will add another proven player to the Buckeyes lineup, even if it will only be in practices for 2020-21. One of the leaders for Bucknell during his three seasons with the Bisons, the 6-foot-3, 195-pounder averaged nearly 12 points and 4 assists per contest as a junior this past season.
Needing depth at the guard position, Sotos now joins CJ Walker, Duane Washington Jr., and Musa Jallow in the Buckeyes slim backcourt.
