Chris Holtmann and crew are locking down pledges from some solid players as of late, but the men’s hoops squad isn’t the only ones trying to secure talent to bring to Columbus. Also looking high and low for standouts is head coach Kevin McGuff and the women’s basketball coaching staff.

One of the latest recruits to earn a chance to suit up in the Scarlet and Gray was class of 2023 point guard Kamorea Arnold. A 5-foot-6 Germantown High School (WI) product, Arnold adds Ohio State to what is starting to be a pretty stout list of college offers. Now only a sophomore, she has picked up opportunities to attend programs such as Florida, South Carolina, Michigan State, Kansas State, Louisville, and Utah to name a few.

If you couldn’t tell from her offer list that Arnold’s a baller, maybe her stat sheet will have you buy in at what she bring to a team. In her first year on the varsity level for the 22-3 Germantown Warhwawks, she averaged 17 points, five rebounds, four assists, and three steals a contest as a freshman.

A five-star rated prospect, ESPN had the following to say on Arnold’s all around game.

“Athletic lead-guard armed with a scorer’s mentality; explosive in transition game, slices through the defense, motors and distributes; explosive 1 on 1 creator with mid-range game delivery that extends to the arc.”
