I-70 Football Podcast: Illinois upsets Penn State, path to B1G title begins (or ends) Saturday

The Big Ten decided to take the new overtime rules for a spin with a nine overtime thriller. Illinois ran all over Penn State to the tune of 357 yards yet couldn’t land in the end zone. After trading field goals in the first two overtime periods the teams went ten straight attempts without a conversion before Illinois completed the upset in the ninth overtime period.

Ohio State turned their offense up a notch and beat Indiana 54-7. Michigan ran all over Northwestern bringing Jordan’s dream match up of undefeated teams as Michigan and Michigan State enter next weeks contest at 7-0. That’s not the only major game as Ohio State vs. Penn State, Iowa vs. Wisconsin and Minnesota vs. Northwestern are all key games that will determine who represents their division in Indianapolis for the Big Ten championship game. With bids to the championship game and subsequently a playoff berth on the line for multiple teams this may be the biggest weekend in recent Big Ten History.

In their weekly pit stops Dante doubles down on bad referees and their lack of oversight. A ref was able to take a touchdown off the board in the Iowa State vs. Oklahoma State game due to a phantom taunting penalty. Jordan discusses RG3 and his cringe worthy broadcasting and why it’s important to just be yourself, especially when you’re a multi-million dollar ex-NFL quarterback.
